The Best Places to View The Eiffel Tower
 Up Close

Arriving in Paris was such a dream came true. The first thing that popped into my mind was "I am going to visit the Eiffel Tower". Then riding in the metro line 6, I realized something: It can be seen everywhere and everywhere seems to be a good photo point... so where should I start?

If you find yourself asking the same question, then this article is for you. Now I present to you, a comprehensive guide on the Best Spots To See The Eiffel Tower UP CLOSE

1. On the Bir-Hakeim Bridge

Get off Metro 6 and walk to the Bir-Hakeim Bridge. With Eiffel Tower on the left and L’Île-aux-Cygnes on the right, there is no shortage of photo opportunities, only shortage of SD card memory space. (The struggle is real).

2. Rue Saint-Dominique

Walking down Rue Saint-Dominique in the 7th arrondissement is a treat, it is one of the best spots to see the Eiffel tower from the street view. To reach this place, just hop onto the Paris Metro line 8 and get off at "La Tour-Maubourg".

3. Rue de L’university

Here is another good place to photograph the Eiffel tower with some timeless buildings in the shot.

4. Next to Pont d’Iena

One of my favorite photos in Paris was taken here. The trees on the street perfectly framed our photo. We also found a carousel nearby and so we proceeded to play with photography angles.

5. Trocadero

Perched on the hilltop, Trocadero offers an unobstructed vista of the Eiffel Tower. Not only that, it is less crowded! This vantage point itself is a gem consist of a park(the lower part) and a beautifully tiled plaza (the upper part) located between the Palais de Chaillot and the Palais du Trocadéro. The plaza is lined with gold statues, providing more interesting photography angles…. time to go wild with perspectives!

6. Champ de Mars

You’ve seen it a million thousand times on the internet. It is the classic view featured on 80% of all Paris postcards. Stop at École Militaire (traveling on metro line 8), load up your picnic basket at a nearby grocery store and spend a beautiful morning on the lawns with a good book. Alternatively, come here in the evening and watch the light comes on.

7. Directly under

Stand at the base of the Eiffel Tower and look up for a “different” view. Best thing of all, I don't think anyone would be able to photobomb your pictures.

8. Mur de La Paix

You can take some amazing photographs here through the Peace Wall at the very end of Champs de Mars.

9. From the Seine River

If budget allows, I highly recommend taking a cruise down the Seine River or hop onto a batobus (a "water taxi"). It is one of the best ways to appreciate the Eiffel Tower. I’ll let the photos do the talking.

10. From the many bridges

view from Pont Alexandre 3

My favorite is the Passerelle Debilly. Another honorable mention is Pont Alexandre III, although it doesn’t offer a close-up view of the Eiffel Tower, crossing the bridge is a one of a kind experience: you’ll see the golden statues, the River Seine and the Eiffel tower from afar, all icons of Paris, captured in a single photo. Besides, if you are visiting Paris with your significant other, go to Pont Neuf (where all the love locks are located) to confess your love.
ps: to all boys visiting Paris with your girlfriend, NEVER ever tie your shoelace in front of her.
